1. Singular and Plural nouns
- Nouns
A noun is a person, a place, or a thing: for example: a waiter, a town, a melon, an egg, an orange. etc.
Note: in writing, name of people, days, months or places are always capitalized. For example: Monday, January, Dara, Ratnagiri.
2. Singular and Plural Nouns
Most nouns can be singular which mean (only one) or plural nouns which mean (more than one)
- Singular Nouns: A pizza , a melon, a banana, an orange, an apple, an egg, an elephant.
- Plural Nouns: Two melon, Three bananas, five apples, ten oranges, some eggs, four books.
The plural form of a few nouns is different. We call these nouns irregular nouns:
- Singular Nouns: man , woman, child, person, foot, tooth, penny, fish, sheep.
- Plural Nouns: men, women, children, people, feet, teeth, pence, fish, sheep
